The Holmes County Sheriff's Office has seven School Resource Deputies who serve as the liaison between the Sheriff's Office and the schools, providing law enforcement services as well as ensuring a safe school atmosphere by assisting in the administration of school rules and policies. By combining law enforcement, education, and counseling, they provide a pro-active approach that encourages school safety and deters juvenile delinquency.

Another duty for the SRD is being a link to other agencies which provide crime prevention  and counseling services within the school district. Working hand in hand with the principal in each school, the SRO assists with finding solutions to problems affecting school age children.
