Sheriff's Office

On November 4th, after receiving information concerning a meth lab, Deputies from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office traveled to 3010 State Road #2 to investigate.  Upon arrival contact was made with the owner of the residence, Carol Gene Arnold (67) who was questioned about his activities involving methamphetamine.  Deputies observed several items inside the residence that are used in the manufacturing and ingestion of methamphetamine.  Also present at the residence was Jessie Dwight Scott (46) and Luann Ledsome Ward (33).  A search of the residence revealed evidence that methamphetamine was being manufactured using the dangerous “shake & bake” method.  Also located was a glass smoking pipe commonly used to ingest methamphetamine, suspected methamphetamine oil and a syringe containing an unidentified substance.

The three occupants of the residence were arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.  All three are being held on a bond of thirty thousand dollars each.  Carol Gene Arnold was on state probation for meth-related charges at the time of this arrest.

In response to these recent arrests, Holmes County Sheriff Tim Brown said, “manufacturing methamphetamine is one of the most serious crimes that we have in our county as many users of this dangerous drug commit other crimes to support their habit”.  “Sheriff Brown also said “I appreciate the information from the public related to this case and other cases that help us with investigations in the county”.
