A Geneva County man is in jail after trying to elude a Holmes County Deputy Sheriff at a high rate of speed. Dusten Alexander Mahon, 24, of Geneva, Al, was arrested around 1:36 am on July 20, 2011, by Deputy Heather Berbert. He was charged with reckless fleeing and attempting to elude and driving while license suspended. Deputy Berbert clocked Mahon traveling 99 mph and he refused to stop. The pursuit continued until the vehicle driven by Mahon crashed near the intersection of the Bonifay-Gritney Road and Tobe Retherford Road. Mahon was transported to the Holmes County Jail where he is being held on a $7,500 bond.
