On the night of February 26, 2011 Holmes County Deputy Craig Sherrouse and Sgt. Daniel Morris were on patrol in Northeast Holmes County near the Alabama line.  A vehicle was stopped by the Deputies for a traffic violation and the passenger held a bag out of the passenger side window in an attempt to conceal it from the Deputy speaking to the driver.  However the second Deputy took the bag from the passenger who was holding it near the ground.  The Deputies observed the bag to contain several smaller bags of suspected marijuana.

Additional bags of suspected marijuana were also located and the three occupants of the vehicle, Richard Williams Jr. (39), Marcus Edward Williams (32) and Floran Octavious Brooks (39) were arrested for possession of marijuana over 20 grams with the intent to distribute and transported to the Holmes County Jail.  All three defendants gave Hartford Alabama addresses.
